Phillip H. Phan is Alonzo and Virginia Decker Professor at The Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School and Professor at the Johns Hopkins Department of Medicine. He is core faculty at the Johns Hopkins Medicine Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality. He is visiting Professor of Medicine at the National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. His research focuses on the agency theory perspectives of innovation with a focus on biomedical discovery and patient safety. He has published in such journals as the Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of International Business, and BMC Health Services Research, and the Journal of Hospital Medicine. He is Associate Editor for the Journal of Family Business Strategy, Journal of Technology Transfer, and Journal of Financial Stability; and Academic Editor for non-clinical medicine in Medicine®.

    Margarethe F Wiersema, Associate Editor

    Margarethe F. Wiersema holds the Dean’s Professorship in Strategic Management at The Paul Merage School of Business, University of California, Irvine. She has an MBA and Ph.D. from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. The recipient of numerous awards for excellence in research and teaching, Professor Wiersema was awarded an honorary doctorate by the Copenhagen Business School in 2016 in recognition of a remarkable contribution to research dissemination and education. She was elected as a Strategic Management Society Fellow in 2012 for making significant contributions to the theory and practice of strategic management. In 2006, she was awarded the Distinguished PhD Alumni Award from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. Professor Wiersema is internationally recognized as one of the leading experts on corporate strategy and corporate governance with more than 50 publications and over 9600 citations and her research has appeared in the New York Times, The Financial Times, The Economist, Fortune, Business Week, the Washington Post, and The Economist Intelligence Unit for their “Executive Briefing”. Her research has been published in the Harvard Business Review, Strategic Management Journal, Academy of Management Journal, and Administrative Science Quarterly. She is the Dean of the Fellows of the Strategic Management Society and on the Senior Editorial Board of the Global Strategy Journal. She served as Associate Editor of the Strategic Management Journal (2009–2018), elected to the board of directors of the Strategic Management Society (2006–2010), elected as President of the Corporate Strategy and Governance Group of the Strategic Management Society (2006–2008), and was elected to the Executive Committee of the Strategic Management Division of the Academy of Management (1995–1997).

    Susanna Khavul is associate professor in the Lucas College and Graduate School of Business at San José State University in the heart of Silicon Valley and Leverhulme Visiting Professor and Visiting Senior Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Previously, Susanna was a faculty member at the London Business School and the University of Texas at Arlington. Her current research asks cross-cutting questions about innovations in the finance and governance of entrepreneurial organizations as well as the development, diffusion, and impact of alternative financial technologies around the world. She serves on the editorial boards of multiple journals, and her research has appeared in the Academy of Management Perspectives (best article finalist), Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management Studies, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, and Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal,among others. Susanna is an enthusiastic researcher whose work maintains a strong connection between theory, evidence, and practice. She has received awards for research and teaching excellence including the Academy of Management's Entrepreneurship Division's IDEA Award for Thought Leadership, the Heizer Award for Excellence in Entrepreneurship Research, and the University of Texas System Regents' Outstanding Teaching Award. She holds a doctorate (highest honors) in strategy and entrepreneurship from Boston University and a degree in economics (high honors) from UC Berkeley.

    Marie Louise

    Marie Louise Mors is a Professor of Strategic Management and Globalization at the Copenhagen Business School. Louise's research interests broadly include innovation, knowledge sharing, social networks, formal organizational boundaries, organization design, ambidexterity, and recently board composition, board dynamics and gender stratification. Her research has been published in the Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal and Organization Science and she also reviews for these and other journals. She is an active member of both the Academy of Management and the Strategic Management Society. In addition, Louise serves on the academic advisory council of CBS, as well as on the board of a large Danish executive education provider. Louise received her PhD in Management from INSEAD in Fontainebleau and spent two years as a post-doc at MIT. Prior to joining CBS, she was on the faculty at the London Business School. She primarily teaches at the Executive and MBA level in the areas of Strategy, Global Strategy and Networks.

    Sharon Toker is an Associate Professor at Tel Aviv University's Coller School of Management. Her research strives to discover the extent to which occupational and environmental factors, stress perceptions, and organizational resources affect the physical and mental well-being of employees. She combines various areas of knowledge such as occupational psychology, cognition, and medicine. She conducts experimental as well as observational longitudinal studies among thousands of employees and strives to identify effective ways of coping with work-related stressors. She also works closely with legislators, to promote employees' health in various industries. She serves as an associate editor of the Occupational Health Science journal and as a member of the editorial boards of multiple journals. Her research has appeared in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Organizational Behavior, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, among others. In 2013, Sharon received the Early Career Achievement Award, awarded by APA & NIOSH. In addition, she was granted numerous awards for outstanding teaching. She received her Ph.D. from the Tel-Aviv University in 2007 (Israel) and completed her Post-doctoral studies at Stanford University (US). Sharon is also an illustrator, translating research findings into visual images. Her visuals appear in both academic and non-academic outlets.

    Professor Geoffrey Wood is DanCap Chair of Innovation and Head of DAN Management at Western University in Canada, and Visiting Professor at Trinity College, Dublin. Previously, he served as Dean and Professor of International Business, at Essex Business School and before then as Professor of International Business at Warwick Business School, UK. He has authored/co-authored/edited eighteen books, and over one hundred and eighty articles in peer-reviewed journals. He has an h-index of 45, and an i10-index of 196. He holds honorary positions at Griffith and Monash University in Australia. Geoff's research interests centre on the relationship between institutional setting, corporate governance, firm finance, and firm level work and employment relations.
